Guests at the Hair X opening show “Backstage by Snowden Hill” sipped VnC Cocktails, as they enjoyed a hair extravaganza of styles from international runway shows in New York, London and Paris, from designers such as Alexander McQueen, Prada and Louis Vuitton.
Hair X 2012 brings together the country’s top talent under one roof in a three day expo held at The Hilton on the Viaduct. Taking centre stage was special guest of honor Snowden Hill, the ex-pat Kiwi whose work has been gracing the prestigious catwalks of Milan, NY and London.

NATURALLY SPIRITED // New Zealand has always produced talented musicians, Kimbra is definitely one of them and she is seriously taking over the world right now! Born and raised in Hamilton, she has been based in Aussie since she was 17 and during the past year has absolutely exploded. Being signed in the US and receiving awards and accolades at every turn. A piece on 20/20 was recently screened which gives you a little glimpse at how crazy her life is right now, we know she will be huge!
Check it out here. (Hopefully our friends around the world can watch this video.)
We had such a fun time celebrating OzTangi Day (NZ’s Waitangi Day & Australia Day) with our fellow Kiwis & Aussies in the Philippines, that we thought we would share a few more party snaps with you. Enjoy!
There wasn’t a dull moment at the Lululemon Athletica, Manifestival Party. Guests partied the night away with VnC Cocktails & enjoyed a number of colourful dance performances & yoga demonstrations.
Lululemon Athletica make technical clothing for yoga, running, and most other sweaty pursuits, check them out here!
We joined over 400 Kiwis & Aussies to help celebrate their respective national days at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza on 31 January, at the Philippines’ first ever Oztangi Day celebration.
Falling on the weekend between Australia Day (26 January) and Waitangi Day (6 February), the event was organised by the Australia New Zealand Chamber of Commerce (ANZCHAM), with assistance from the two countries’ embassies.
Those attending enjoyed sumptuous VnC Cocktails from their Kiwi homeland, as well as the musical talents of New Zealand musician Karl Teariki, who came to Manila to support a series of ‘Experience New Zealand’ events.
It was over 90 years before a select few apples were allowed across the Aussie / NZ ditch, yet luckily for cocktail enthusiasts a more popular kiwi export has migrated in a fraction of the time.
With an ethos combining fun and freshness, VnC Cocktails have conquered a gap in the Aussie market by creating a pre-mixed, premium range of cocktails. A delivery of the naturally spirited range arrived on my doorstep just in time for a weekend getaway up the coast.
Our unanimous fave was the Passionfruit Caprioska, based on a fruit which is described as “the mousy librarian who removes her glasses and everyone realises is a real fox”. A close second was the mango daiquiri, a blend of banana and mango with New Zealand vodka.
Despite a high number of sweet ready-to-drink beverages on the bottle-o shelves, the concept of a natural fruit juice cocktail seems to have been previously overlooked. Founded by kiwi Shane McKillen in 2007, his commitment to no artificial colouring, preservatives or colours will appeal to those health conscious Sydney-siders who are still partial to a tasty cocktail.
Despite being the first company in the world to gain Certified Emissions Measurement and Reduction Scheme (CEMARS) product certification, VnC cheekily claims that the “only problem NZ has is that there’s only three tv channels”.
Following in the footsteps of Flight of the Conchords, pavlovas and beached whales (forget the pesky apples), this is a kiwi export that is likely to punch above its weight (and probably soon be claimed as our own).
We were delighted to help celebrate the re-opening of the NOM*d Christchurch boutique, following earthquake damage. The store looks beautiful, cheers to new beginnings!
