VnC Cocktails on NZI Business

VnC Cocktails was founded by Shane McKillen, one of the original investors in the hugely successful 42Below vodka, who saw a market for a quality ready to drink cocktail that would appeal to adults. McKillen told TV ONE’s NZI Businesss that the strategy is “similar but different” to 42Below and its success has been built on quality natural ingredients and basing production in New Zealand.
The two-year-old company is now exporting to 16 countries worldwide including China, Thailand, India, Hong Kong, Canada, Monaco, and Russia and has recently won several awards in global beverage competitions. VnC Cocktails has now purchased the Pinto juice plant in Tauranga to increase manufacturing capabilities and meet demand.
VnC Cocktails Awarded 3 Gold Medals

VnC Cocktails have been awarded 3 gold medals and one silver medal in the “Drinks International Pre-Mixed Drinks Challenge 2010”. The awards were run in the UK by Drinks International magazine, a global publication devoted to the global spirits, wine and beer industry and included entries from beverage giants such as Beam Global and Diageo.
The proudly New Zealand made VnC Cocktails were one of more than 50 different products to compete in the awards and took home 3 out of the 8 gold medals in the overall pre-mixed category.
Chris Fairbairn, General Manager of VnC Cocktails says, “It’s exciting to see our all natural Kiwi cocktails stacking up as leaders in an international competition. This is a testament to the quality of ingredients and the innovation of our mixologists. We’re proud to see VnC Cocktails representing New Zealand on the ready to pour cocktails world circuit,” he says
This achievement follows earlier success at the International Wines and Spirits Competition where VnC Cocktails were awarded seven medals and the VnC Pacific Mai Tai took out Best in Class.

Once upon a time, not very long ago, there was a guy who worked for a successful Vodka brand. They sold their Vodkas all over the world, and the guy did a lot of travelling. He liked his job. And he liked the rewards he got from his frequent flyer programme too.
So like New Zealanders often do, he bit the bullet. He quit his Vodka brand job, grabbed a mate, and together they travelled the world looking for recipes and ideas. After travelling the globe sitting in bars and gathering more ideas, they returned to New Zealand a little hung-over, a bit dehydrated, slightly jet-lagged, but full of ideas and enthusiasm.
And the rest, as they say, is history. VnC Cocktails hit the shelves, and people who were shopping for liquor saw VnC Cocktails and thought “Hmmm. That’s a good idea.” Then when they tasted them they thought “Hmmm. These are delicious” and they bought some more.
Then VnC grew real big and decided they needed help telling the world about their cocktails.. (in a fun way). Anyway..
At some stage you will form a team of three people (we will be looking for the funest of the fun). Over the summer period you will be taking photos and video footage of yourselves having fun with VnC people and VnC events which you will need to upload to Facebook. Then our VnC fans will vote to see who gets choosen as the VnC Funest of the Fun Brigade. As the Funest of the Fun you will get the opportunity to travel parts of New Zealand and introduce people to yummy VnC Cocktails and see some real cool stuff.
